‘Spirit’ is the band’s most musically ambitious album so far, representing a major step forward in the band’s development, dealing with themes of grief, loss and ultimately, hope. The cornerstone of the album is a 45 minute unbroken piece taking the form of an emotional journey at once personal and universal, despairing and uplifting.
Martin Hutchinson, Progradar
This album really does have everything for the discerning prog listener from soft keyboards to riffing guitars, plenty of Mellotron and great tunes. This is by far the best COE album to date and as I said earlier, should be enjoyed as a complete listen instead of dipping in and out. This is sure to be one I will keep coming back to.
Dave Smith, Background Magazine
COE have succeeded in making another great album that will find its way to the houses of many proggers all over the world. They are a force now to be reckoned with in British prog and I sincerely hope they will be going on for many years treating us with such beautiful music. I certainly recommend this album and advise all people to listen more than once.
